# Intake reference

This workflow prepares factual material for legal review. It is not a universal
legal memorandum template, contract opinion or litigation prediction. Use counsel's
intake convention and verified jurisdiction when available.

A useful brief connects client goals, parties and roles, a sourced chronology,
disputed propositions, evidence available, evidence missing and next questions.
Keep a reported promise distinct from a written term. Office location is not proof
of incorporation, governing law or forum. An approaching business event is not a
filing deadline. Preserve the wording that explains why a fact remains uncertain.

Use matter evidence and applicable legal sources for the brief's citations. Omit
unrelated product, sales or research-method references even if they are available.

For requested legal research, establish jurisdiction and the question first, then
check current legislation, court sources or other authoritative material. Cite the
actual authority and identify unresolved applicability. If those prerequisites are
missing, finish the useful factual brief and ask the focused question needed next.
